Ordering policies

Baked With Grace is a home bakery in Portsmouth, Virginia. Everything is made by Natalie in her home kitchen under Virginia’s home food processing exemption. As Virginia law requires, our products are labeled:

NOT FOR RESALE — PROCESSED AND PREPARED WITHOUT STATE INSPECTION

Orders are for customers in Virginia, for you, your family, friends or event. We can’t sell items for resale or to stores, cafés or restaurants, and we can’t deliver outside Virginia.

• Please order at least 4 days ahead. You can place an order online any time.
• Natalie will text you within 24 hours to confirm your order.
• Card orders are paid through a secure Square payment link sent with your confirmation. Cash is paid at pickup or delivery.

• Cancel 72 hours or more before your pickup or delivery time for a full refund.
• Cancellations less than 72 hours before can’t be refunded, because ingredients have been bought and baking has started.
• Custom-decorated cakes can’t be refunded once work on them has begun.

• Text us as early as you can and we’ll do our best.
• Changes less than 72 hours before your pickup or delivery time can’t be guaranteed.

Please contact us within 24 hours of pickup or delivery, by text or email with a photo. We’ll look into it and may offer a remake or store credit. We don’t give refunds after pickup or delivery.

• Pickup is Monday–Saturday at the time you chose. The pickup address is sent with your confirmation (card orders: once payment is received).
• Running late? Text us. Orders not picked up by the end of the day (3 PM) are forfeited and can’t be refunded.

• We deliver within about 30 miles of Portsmouth, to Virginia addresses only. The delivery fee is based on your address and shown before you place your order.
• Someone needs to be there to receive the order. If no one is available, we’ll text you and hold the order until the end of that day (3 PM) for pickup or another drop-off. After that it’s forfeited and can’t be refunded.
• Once your order is handed over, it’s in your care.

No pickup or delivery on Sundays, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day.

If bad weather or an emergency makes baking or driving unsafe, we’ll contact you to reschedule.

Our home kitchen also handles wheat, milk, eggs, soy, peanuts and tree nuts, so we can’t guarantee any item is free of allergens. Ingredients are listed on every label, and we’re happy to share them before you order. Just ask.

• Keep baked goods covered at room temperature and enjoy within a few days. Freeze for longer keeping.
• Carry cakes on a flat surface and keep them out of hot cars and direct sun.

Every order is handmade, so inspiration photos are a guide and colors or details may vary slightly. Please remove any non-edible decorations, such as toppers, supports or candles, before serving.

• When you order, we collect your name, phone, email, delivery address and order notes. We use them only to make and deliver your order and to send your order emails: a confirmation, a payment receipt, and one thank-you note asking for a review after your first order. If you tick “Stay in the know,” we’ll also send occasional emails about seasonal treats and specials.
• Card payments are handled by Square. We never see your full card number.
• We never sell your information. We only add you to our email list if you tick “Stay in the know” when you order, and you can unsubscribe anytime by replying to any of our emails. We keep order records as long as we need them for taxes and business records.
• This website uses basic Squarespace analytics cookies to count visits. It doesn’t respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals.
